App Allows Guests to Communicate Directly with Hotel Concierge, via Text Messaging,
From Anywhere, and for Any Request
DENVER – August 18, 2011 – Hotel Teatro, Denver’s luxury boutique hotel, announces today the launch of its new, first-of-its-kind, iPhone app and text messaging system. Available now as a free download, the app is the very first in the industry to provide guests with instant access to a private, two-way chat with the Hotel Teatro concierge desk, directly from their iPhones, from anywhere they may be during their stays. Whether guests need to check-in, make dining reservations, obtain transportation, order champagne to be waiting for them upon arrival, or any other concierge service, there is no longer a need to call the desk or visit the concierge in-person.
For guests who don't own iPhones, the system also offers instant access to the concierge desk by allowing them to simply send requests to the concierge’s 10-digit phone number from any text-capable device.
“While there are some hotel apps that allow guests to access certain, pre-programmed concierge services, such as room service menus and wake-up calls, no other hotel has ever offered an in-app text messaging system that allows guests to communicate directly with the concierge from their mobile devices,” said Ted Guggenheim, founder of CNCRGconnect.com, the creators of the messaging platform.
“Now, when our guests have a request or a question, there is no need for them to call the desk or wait for the concierge on duty to finish helping someone else,” said Carolyn Bartels, Hotel Teatro concierge. “We can assist them immediately, while simultaneously helping other guests who are also using the system. It is a wonderful tool to extend our world-class concierge service beyond the property. Additionally, if a guest has a request that I can’t confirm at that moment, for example, a reservation at a restaurant that does not open for a few hours, I can now send a confirmation message directly to the guest’s phone the moment the request is fulfilled.”
Other Features
Also available within the app, is Hotel Teatro’s meticulously and personally-curated City Guide, featuring concierge-recommended hot spots for dining, nightlife, shopping and other activities, a great resource for information while on-the-go in the Mile High City.
Additionally, meeting or group organizers now have the ability to communicate an important message, via text, to an entire group staying at the hotel at once. They simply give the message to the concierge, who uses the system to send each member of the party the same message instantly on his or her device.
