The Insiders’ Select list formally recognizes individual hotels worldwide that consistently deliver excellent service, a great overall experience and a notable value. Expedia’s Insiders Select program debuted in 2007, but the requirements were increasingly-rigorous this year; Expedia required more reviews per property and higher scores per review to make the list. Hotels that made the 2011 list received an average review score of 4.7, and a 98.2 percent recommendation rate. Hotels were ranked based on three components, including more than 500,000 customer reviews, input from local market managers employed by Expedia and a value rating calculated by comparing a hotel’s average daily rates to those of similar properties to assess its relative value. Hotel Teatro was also named an Expedia Insider’s Select Hotel in 2010.
