AWARD-WINNING HOTEL TEATRO CELEBRATES 100th ANNIVERSARY WITH SIGNATURE “DIAMOND-TINI” COMMEMORATIVE COCKTAIL & EXCLUSIVE PACKAGE
Teatro Sparkles in 2011, Boasting Four Diamonds and a Diamond Anniversary
Denver, Colo. – (June 28, 2011) – Hotel Teatro, Denver’s luxury boutique hotel, has more than just the diamonds in its AAA Four Diamond status to celebrate this year; 2011 also marks the hotel’s Diamond Anniversary. To commemorate the event, Hotel Teatro has created a signature cocktail, appropriately coined “The Diamond-tini,” as well as an exclusive 100th Anniversary package.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our Diamond Anniversary with our valued guests and the local Denver community,” said Jim Turner, general manager of Hotel Teatro. “We invite both guests and locals to join us in toasting Denver’s extraordinary history with our signature “Diamond-tini” and our 100th Anniversary package, which includes private historic tours of Hotel Teatro, originally the Denver Tramway Building, and the neighboring Daniels & Fisher Clocktower.”
Throughout the year, Prima Ristorante, located inside Hotel Teatro, will offer The Diamond-Tini, a blend of sparkling sake, vermouth and a splash of bitters, garnished with an orange twist and topped off with a diamond-shaped ice cube.
The 100th Anniversary Package will also be offered throughout 2011. Staring at $399, the package includes:
- A private historic tour of Hotel Teatro/the Historic Tramway building
- A private historic tour of the neighboring D&F Clocktower (unavailable to the general public)
- A five-course dinner for two at Restaurant Kevin Taylor, with wine pairing

Hotel Teatro was originally built in 1911 as the Denver Tramway Building, on the site of the original Evans Mansion, home of Colorado’s second territorial governor, John Evans. Following World War II, the building became the nucleus of the University of Colorado’s Denver Campus, and remained so until the late eighties, when the university moved its facilities. In 1997, with the help of a grant from the Colorado Historical Society, State Historic Fund, the building was resorted and eighteen months later, in 1999, it opened as Hotel Teatro, the luxury hotel that stands today.
