Touring a Denver Microbrewery:
When you visit Denver, you’ll quickly learn that most residents take their beer very seriously. Colorado is continually ranked in the top 5 states for U.S. beer production, and it has one of the largest numbers of brewers and microbreweries in the country.

In addition to being the capital city, Denver is considered the beer capital of Colorado by many. There’s even a “beer triangle” of sorts near Hotels in Denver like Hotel Teatro, where the apex of brewing takes place and you’ll find outstanding Denver Bars and microbreweries producing beers that are simply exceptional in taste.

The “beer-muda” triangle exists between Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins, and it makes for exciting Things to Do in Denver like touring fantastic microbreweries while you’re on a trip to Denver. This area houses more than 6 dozen breweries, including the famous Coors. The trio of cities even plays host to the Guinness Book of World Records’-declared “Largest beer Festival in the world,” the Great American Beer Festival, which is always one of the top Denver Events among our Hotel Guests.

Why You Should Tour a Denver Microbrewery:
Even though beer has become big business in Denver, there are still some down-home, roots-driven microbreweries near Hotels in Denver like Hotel Teatro that will give you a tour of their facilities and even let you sample some fabulous beers.

The following is just a short list of some of the microbreweries that our Hotel Guests tour and enjoy as top Things to Do in Denver:
Breckenridge Brewery – This microbrewery sits directly across from Coors Field, making it the perfect Denver Bar and brewery for sports fans, as well as a great pit stop before a baseball game. Ski bum, Richard Squire, brought his entrepreneurial spirit and creative talent for brewing to Colorado in the 1980’s, and he opened his first Denver outpost in 1992. Breckenridge Brewery features the absolutely outstanding Vanilla Porter, which is crafted from vanilla beans from Papua New Guinea and Madagascar, giving the dark ale an exotic edge.

Denver Beer Co. – The folks behind Denver Beer Co. began their foray into beer-making producing garage batches of homebrew. They’ve come a long way and their love of beer has made it possible for Denver visitors and residents to enjoy innovative beer selections that match the changing seasons’ freshest ingredients. Denver Beer Co. brews in small quantities at a time, allowing for maximum spontaneity and new recipes that change on a whim. Beers on tap change weekly, but the brewery makes sure to always have a few patron favorites around.

Great Divide Brewing Company – For beer with a little bit of prestige to it, stop in and taste the ales from Great Divide Brewing Company. This brewery has won 17 medals at the Great American Beer Festival and 5 World Cup Beer Awards. In 2010, Beer Advocate ranked Great Divide Brewing Company 7th in its All-time Top Breweries on Planet Earth. Brian Dunn, Great Divide’s master beer creator, spent 5 years building farms and sampling local drinks in developing countries, which led to the globally-inspired ales that you’ll be able to enjoy at Great Divide. This microbrewery prides itself on being “distinctly Denver.”
